UPCOMING: A Daśa-mūla-śikṣā Course and Śrīla Gurudeva's Articles Beginning from 1950!

I want to let you know about two exciting programs coming up very soon:

1. A course on Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's Daśa-mūla-tattva
2. A monthly reading series covering all the articles of Śrīla Gurudeva Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja published in Śrī Bhāgavata-patrikā and Śrī Gauḍīya-patrikā

Daśa-mūla-śikṣā Course

Beginning this Friday, June 7, 2024, my Godsister Candramukhī Dīdī will be teaching a ten-module course on Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's Daśa-mūla-tattva. Candramukhī Dīdī is both highly skilled and wonderfully engaging as a teacher. I've seen some of the elaborate preparations she's been making, and I can assure you, this program is going to be absolutely amazing.

If someone were to ask what Gauḍīya philosophy is and what are the main teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the most comprehensive and authoritative way to answer would be by explaining Daśa-mūla-tattva. Understanding these ten fundamental principles gives you a solid grasp of Mahāprabhu's entire philosophy. It is essential. A third of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's Jaiva-dharma and half of his renowned English book "Śrī Caitanya: His Life and Precepts" are dedicated to Daśa-mūla-tattva. To emphasize the significance of these ten principles, my Śrīla Gurudeva would say that anyone who doesn't know the first verse of Daśa-mūla-tattva ("āmnāyaḥ prāha tattvaṁ") is "not my disciple."

Speaking for myself, I know if I were suddenly called on to speak about Daśa-mūla-tattva, I wouldn't be able to explain it very adequately. So I am especially eager for this course. Unfortunately, it coincides with my daily Bhaktivinoda-gīti-dhārā program, so I won't be able to join live. But, I still registered so that I can get access to the replays, which I will definitely be watching after.

Śrīla Gurudeva's Prabandhāvalī

In about 8 hours from now (7 AM India time, my regular daily program time), we will commence a monthly reading session of the collection of articles (prabandhāvalī) by Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja, Śrīla Gurudeva. These articles were published in Śrī Gauḍīya-patrikā and Śrī Bhāgavata-patrikā. Our first session will cover articles from 1950–1952.

This program will be led by my dear godbrother Śrīvāsa Prabhu, who has been translating these articles and publishing them on his website, bigdrum.us. Eventually, these articles will be edited and compiled into a book by Gaudiya Vedanta Publications, but in this online program, you have the chance to get special early access to them.

If you can't join live, don't worry, the program will be live-streamed on both Śrīvāsa's YouTube channel and mine.

This program will take place every Amāvasyā, or New Moon, which is the tithi our Śrīla Gurudeva appeared on.
