Would you like to learn the verses of Śrī Govardhana-vāsa-prārthanā-daśakam?

I just made this announcement on the Gaudiya Kirtan mailing list, but I’m sharing it here on Vine of Devotion for those who aren’t subscribed there.

Starting in a couple of days, we’ll begin going through one verse each day from Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī’s Śrī Govardhana-vāsa-prārthanā-daśakam. I’ll explain the meaning of each Sanskrit word and phrase, we’ll repeat each line a few times, and then recite the full verse together. By familiarizing yourself with the meanings, memorizing the verses will become easier (or even automatic) as we sing them repeatedly.

These sessions will take place at our usual time: 7 AM India Time (find the timing in your region). We’ll meet on Zoom, but I’ll stream the sessions on YouTube for those who want to watch later. I’ll be sharing the verses, recordings, and Zoom link in the Bhaktivinoda-gīti-dhārā WhatsApp group. If you haven’t joined yet, here’s the link to do so:

After Kārtika, we’ll resume our program of going through all the songs of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. Feel free to join the above WhatsApp group if you’d like to participate in that program as well.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be revising the verses from Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura’s Sva-niyama-dvādaśakam, and once we’ve completed Govardhana-vāsa-prārthanā-daśakam, we’ll move on to Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī’s Sva-niyama-daśakam.
